The heart of our systems is the Argus Infrared Spark Detector, so effective and reliable that more than 100,000 have been installed around the world. They offer high-speed sensitivity to sparks or embers traveling in duct work or machinery at speeds from 150mm (or 6 inches) per second to 60 meters (200 feet) per second. That is equivalent to embers moving at speeds of up to ~ 220 kph (or 136 mph). Our spark detector is so unique and effective that it is patented and features an unrivaled ability to distinguish between hazardous embers and non-threatening static discharges significantly reducing the cost and operational impact of the system.
Argus Fire Control Panels are designed with all the features necessary for high speed fire detection, suppression, and control. The dust-proof and moisture-proof construction assures trouble free operation in industrial environments. The panels have features such as individual zone disconnect switches, individual reset switches, and supervised detection, alarm, and extinguisher circuits.
The fire suppressing systems are installed adjacent to the protected hazard by use of a piping network. Depending on the type of equipment, nature of the fire hazard as well as customer requirements, FM-200 clean agent, dry chemical powder, carbon dioxide gas, or water may be utilized as the suppressing agent. FM-200 systems are engineered to effectively protect machinery or equipment from fire, but require no cleanup after discharge and suppression. The dry chemical systems are used in filtration and other volatile applications where refill costs become prohibitive but where the fire expansion risks are high. In any case, the ember is detected and extinguished quickly, resulting in minimal down-time and damage. (Note: FM-200 is also known as FE-227, HFC-227, or Heptafluoropropane)

Argus Fire Control is an authorized distributor of DuPont FM-200 Fire Suppression Gas. As such we are prepared to refill most system and refill tanks regardless of manufacturer (including Fike, Chemetron, Kiddie, Fenwal, and others).
FM-200 (or "heptafluoropropane") may also be labeled as FE-227, HFC-227 or HFC-227ea (depending upon the system manufacturer). Regardless of the name on the tank, it is all HFC-227ea. If you need refill service either on an emergency or standard basis please contact us to discuss our capabilities, various options, and pricing. We believe we offer the most competitive prices in the industry on "virgin" FM-200 gas.
The Argus AD-50eC enhanced Combination Metal and Spark Diverter System provides automatic protection from both metal contaminants and fire hazards for today's automatic spinning and nonwoven mills. Usually placed either after the automatic bale opening system, or directly in front of the cards, the AD-50eC removes metal (ferrous and non-ferrous) without interrupting production. Further, the AD-50eC will detect, divert, and extinguish hazardous embers, as well as shut down production machinery in order to isolate any related threats.
Fully digitally programmable, the AD-50e will detect and divert particles moving at speeds up to 33 meters (or 108 feet) per second, in a space requirement of only 4 meters (13 feet) due to the high speed 50 millisecond reaction time.
The Argus AD-50eS High Speed Spark Diverting System includes all the fire suppression systems as the AD-50eC without the metal diverting capabilities. Typically installed before card lines and large cell blenders, the AD-50eS offers a safeguard to systems with a higher refilling cost. Available with FM-200 or Water Spray systems, the compact design of the AD-50eS requires only 5 feet (1.5 meters) of space in the duct line. The high speed 50 millisecond reaction time ensures that sparks are diverted and extinguished before the fire can spread to any downstream machinery.
The Argus PDG-33 Dry Chemical Fire Suppressing System is a stored pressure dry chemical system for use in textile filtration hazards. The bicarbonate based extinguishing agent (called plus 50 B) has for years been found as the most efficient and cost effective fire suppressant for the very large and volatile filter systems in today's textile mills. The Argus PDG-33 system was designed to operate in harsh industrial environments and is backed by a one year Argus warranty.
Features
No sensitive electronics or moving parts are ever in contact with the dry chemical. This means very reliable and worry free operation for many years.

Argus Fire Control offers the woodworking and dust collection industry an affordable water spray system to protect valuable filters and machinery and avoid costly production down time. The Argus PulseFire water spray system is specifically designed to protect woodworking dust collection systems. The system was designed to operate in harsh industrial environments and is backed by a one-year Argus warranty. The Argus water-spray system is easy to operate and easy to maintain. The self-diagnostic circuitry in the Argus Pulsefire-2 Control Panel is fully supervised and will provide both a visible and audible alert should a problem occur.
How the System Works
Argus employees and agents attend a broad range of exhibitions and trade shows world-wide. Please meet with us at any of the shows on the schedule noted below.
